Dark/Light box

The Dark/Light module (03DL) is used to evaluate anxiety.

Principle

Individual subjects (mouse or rat) are placed into a fresh homecage with an inserted dark box and extra lighting. The latency of the 1st entry into the dark compartment, the time spent in the light/dark compartment, and the numbers of transitions between dark/light compartments are quantified.

This module can be extended for the conditional place preference test with customer-designed modifications.
